. On Saturday, September 11, 2010, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., a pre-race day swim (practice) will occur
along the DC shoreline, just downstream from the Arlington Memorial Bridge, with a start and finish at a designated area
downstream from the bridge on the DC side of the River. On Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., the triathlon
swim segment (race) with approximately 5,000 participants will be held on two adjacent 1.5 kilometer, marked, rectangular
courses on the Upper Potomac River, located under, adjacent to and downstream from the Arlington Memorial Bridge, with a
start and finish at a designated area downstream from the bridge on the DC side of the River. Swimmers will be supported by

The described route is +/- 334 miles roundtrip from Woodbridge.

If conditions allow we would also like to head a bit further south into the Albemarle Sound and visit the Lost Colony site at Roanoke Island. What better way to honor Christopher Columbus' birthday? This would add what looks like another 100 miles to the trip.

Our plan would be to depart Belmont Bay the morning of Thursday October 7 and return Tuesday October 12.
