Since most of us will never have an opportunity to make The Great Loop... ICW to the Gulf Coast to the Mississippi through the Great Lakes and back down the East Coast to DC...

Here's an idea for an extended weekend in early October.

http://www.discoverelizabethcity.com...ochure-map.pdf

The described route is +/- 334 miles roundtrip from Woodbridge.

If conditions allow we would also like to head a bit further south into the Albemarle Sound and visit the Lost Colony site at Roanoke Island. What better way to honor Christopher Columbus' birthday? This would add what looks like another 100 miles to the trip.

Our plan would be to depart Belmont Bay the morning of Thursday October 7 and return Tuesday October 12.

Anyone else up for it?
